) is hosting a fun blog hop and I decided to join!!! A 2 colors piece.....I can make THAT!!! (disregard all other quilt I have ever done)
Then I had my eureka moment....an Hawaiian Quilt!!!! Never done one and knew nothing about it but I never said I was sane. First take a piece of paper, fold it, look at Pinterest to see what it should more or less look like, put scissor to paper and watch it come to pieces when unfolding ( I had a flashback to kindergarten).
Try again and success!!!!
Since I didn't have a lot of time I just did a 12" x 12" block (maybe I am not THAT nut after all) but can imagine joining many quilt as you go block into a bigger quilt!!!! I love those colors together....so calming.
I had fun machine quilting this piece to death...I love the different textures :)

Reply DeleteYou did a great job. How did you cut the fabric? Did you iron it to freezer paper so it would fold and cut like paper?

Reply DeleteNow their is an idea.. the old paper snowflake trick.. I could starch my fabric to get it a little bit stiff, then cut some slices into it to make snowflakes.. I like it.. I like yours to, the lovely colors are very calming and relaxing, the two different pictures give you a whole different look to them and that's pretty cool. I love that you've joined us for Opposites Attract and I hope you will join us again for more fun events. Thank you for such a beautiful project.

very impressed with the Hawaiian piece, did try it years ago as part of the embroidery course I did my sample was tiny. Love the colours too a great piece best of luck if you do a bed sized quilt
